Bobb Triggs

Bob Triggs began his outdoors life on the small ponds and streams of the sprawling Adirondack Mountain Wilderness Park in upstate New York. He is a lifelong fisherman, boater and outdoorsman with a broad range of wilderness experience and skills. He studied literature and biology at Rutgers University and at Purchase College, and worked for many years in the restoration and conservation of antiquities, and as a writer. In 1980 he took up the grand obsession of fly fishing on the storied waters of the Catskill Mountains of New York; birthplace of American fly fishing. He has fished extensively throughout the Atlantic states for numerous species in both fresh and salt waters. Bob began his guiding career in 1994 and since then has guided in New England, New York, Alaska, Kamchatka-Russia and Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. His articles and essays on the fishing life have appeared in Fly Fisherman Magazine, Fly Fishing in Salt Waters, Heading Out, The Yale Angler’s Journal, Land Rover Journal and numerous regional outdoors publications and newspapers. He writes and fishes on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula

Bob will be presenting on sea-run coastal cutthroat trout fishing on Puget Sound waters.

Today’s fly fisher is confronted with a myriad of different fly line profiles and types – whether a trout, saltwater or Spey angler. There are so many fly lines on the market, that many fly fishers are left confused by the selection and frequently use the wrong line for a situation.

This talk is designed to give attendees a complete understanding of the importance of fly line design, and how choosing the right fly line can make the worst rod in the world, work perfectly or, if chosen wrongly, can make the best fly rod fail miserably.

Part history, part physics, part chemistry, this talk is packed with invaluable information that anglers (and even non-anglers), will find fascinating and humorous. At the end of the night, attendees will leave with a far greater understanding of fly line importance and knowledge, and a few will even leave with some very useful swag that gets handed out during the talk (fly lines, leaders, hats, tees and such).

Todd is a senior guide with Ellensburg Anglers that will share the walk in access points, best flows, equipment, flies and methods to fish the Yakima River.

Todd Fuchigami grew up fishing the reefs and open water of Oahu, Hawaii. He joined the Army in 2003 and has been stationed throughout the continental U.S. Todd was first introduced into the world of fly fishing while being stationed in North Carolina. His first trout caught on a fly was in the Smoky Mountains. Since that time he’s been addicted to fly fishing and sharing his passion with others.

His job in the Army as a Flight Medic and Medical Instructor is apparent when he’s working with new anglers. He’s fished for striped bass off the coast of New York, stalked monster bonefish in Hawaii, and chased trout in several states on both coasts. Todd’s true passion is chasing trout in the desert creeks of Eastern Washington.

Todd will be sharing how to fish the Yakima River with emphasis on wading access.
