In Loving Memory
David Junius Nielson
November 29, 1944 – October 2, 2015
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Nielson on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the age of 71 due to heart failure and pneumonia. He left us peacefully in his sleep, with his wife Sally at his bedside.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Mills & Mills Memorial Park, 5725 Littlerock Rd SW, Tumwater, WA 98512. Following the burial, there will be a memorial service at 4:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10675 NE 20th St, Bellevue, WA 98004.
David will be forever remembered as a gifted aeronautical engineer, adventurous mountain climber and outdoor enthusiast, expert fisherman, scoutmaster of 30 years, and, most importantly, as a man devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. In the face of failing health and despite all odds, he continued to fish right up until the end of his life. This is a picture of him with the last fish he caught, just two weeks ago.
