Hip Replacement and getting back out there!!

Francisco Garcia

I am a recovering complete hip replacement patient and have a question. On my eighth week of recovery and feeling great. Per my doctor, I am free to explore in my normal endeavors. Has anybody had a hip replacement and what did they do to get back out on the streams/creeks safely? Maybe an easy creek to walk through..? Thanks ahead!!

    Hi Francisco,
I have not had hip surgery and I’m glad you are recovering nicely. Have you tried fishing for sea-run Cutthroat? There are many saltwater public beaches throughout Puget Sound. These beaches may offer a safer alternative, plus the benefits of aerobic exercise and strengthening your hip and leg muscles. Let me know if you have questions. Jeff Norman

That would be great! My doctor said no uneven surfaces until after 3 months. I will give that a try. Thanks, Jeff!!
